Ely Cathedral (The Cathedral Church of the Holy and Undivided Trinity of Ely) is known as "the ship of the Fens", because of its prominent shape that towers above the surrounding flat and watery landscape.
TUDOR HISTORY:
In some of the photos you will see photos of beheaded Catholic saint statues and ruins. This is because In 1539, during Henry VIII's Dissolution of the Monasteries, the cathedral suffered minor damage, including a shrine being completely destroyed, and many of the statues in the lady chapel were severely damaged.
